Methi Chicken with Simple Ingredients: Quick & Tasty

Easy and delicious Methi Chicken

Ingredients:

Chicken (with bones or boneless – 800 gms- 1 kg

Marinate chicken with – 

Salt

Lemon juice – 1 tsp

Ginger-garlic paste – 1tsp

Dry Spices – 

Red chilli powder – 2 tsp

Coriander powder – 2 tbsp.

Cumin Powder – 1 tsp.

Garam Masala – ½ tsp.

Meat masala – 1 tbsp. heaped

Turmeric powder – 1tsp.

Other Ingredients:

Coarsely ground tomatoes – 3 medium sized

Onion chopped – 2

Methi leaves – Fresh (1 big bunch) / Frozen cubes (3 cubes, defrosted)

Garnish:

Green chillies – few

Chopped coriander leaves

Fried sliced onions

Method:

Heat few tablespoons of oil. 

Once the oil gets hot, add the chopped onions and fry till light golden brown.

Then add the marinated chicken and fry on high flame till the chicken is well sealed. 

Next, add the methi leaves and fry well till the chicken releases its water and methi is fried well.

Add all the dry spices, mix well and cook for few more minutes.

Add the tomato with salt and cook till Cook the chicken uncovered till chicken is well cooked, its water has nearly dried, and everything is well amalgamated. It may take 12-15 minutes or more. 

Finally, once done, add the green chillies and chopped coriander leaves and finish cooking for further few minutes.  Serve hot with additional garnish of fried sliced onions.
